Emerson/DaVinci Bulletin - Friday, February 9th, 2018

New and Timely Information:

  • Happy second semester 2 from your Da Vinci and Emerson School Counselors! We hope you are enjoying your classes so far! If you are considering requesting to add/drop a class, please fill out a “request to see counselor” form in either office on campus by Tuesday. Changes are not guaranteed, and will be made if space is available, after consulting adults in your life. Make an appointment with your School Counselor for more information.

  • Valentine’s Day Grams! Do you know someone that you think needs to know how special you think they are? Come to the IDC today and purchase a Valentine’s Day Gram, a nice note and a flower, that will be delivered to the person you choose next Wednesday, February 14th  during their 4th period class.
  • After School Assistance Program (ASAP) Monday – Thursday, 3:30pm – 5:00pm
  • Emerson and Da Vinci Students: Need some help with homework? Looking to do better on that next math test? Want some help with that essay? Come to the After School Assistance Program (ASAP)! We’ll have teachers and staff there to assist you with all of the above. With progress reports coming home soon, this is an opportunity to get some assistance and make a plan for success. ASAP is free and available to all students. Drop by ASAP and get the help you need!
  • If you are interested in learning more about the Emerson and Da Vinci Jazz Band, come to a mandatory meeting on Thursday February 15th at lunch in the music room. Current Emerson/Da Vinci band members as well as guitar, bass, and piano players welcome. Musicians must have at least one year of experience on their instrument and be able to read music to join the group. See Ms. Tonus further details.
  • Love to Sing?!  Davis High School Choral Audition: Come sing with the DHS auditioned choirs: the Madrigal Singers, Jazz Choir and Advanced Treble Choir. Audition Application due MONDAY, FEBRUARY 26th.  Audition dates are March 5-9thCome, listen and find out more about each choir:

Sports

  • 7th and 8th grade boys interested in the upcoming soccer season: We will begin practicing on Tuesday Feb 13th on the soccer field behind the C-wing.  Remember your shin guards; you won’t be allowed to practice without them.  If you have questions see Coach Teves in A-6.
  • Attention 7th and 8th grade girls.  If you are interested in playing soccer for your school this spring, please come to the office and sign up.  Practice starts Next week.  Prior to playing you must have your paperwork in to the office.   Thanks for being willing to share your time and talents with your school.  If you have any questions, please see Coach Jacobson in room A-4. 
  • Davis High Girls Badminton tryouts will start at 3:45 in the North gym this Monday Feb. 12th. If you are interested in trying out you must have signed up on athleticclearance.com, received your clearance email, and provide this clearance to the coach on the day of tryouts.   • Blue Devil Spirit Wear! Royal blue or black hooded sweatshirts are available for $25; white or royal blue athletic socks are $12; royal blue cinch bags are $10. Available in the DHS Finance Office. Coming soon to the DHS webstore!
  • New this school year! DSHS Sports Passes! The Athletics Department is selling sports passes on the webstore on the DSHS website. Passes currently for sale:  All Sports Family Pass; All Sports Individual Pass; Freshman All Sports Pass. NOW AVAILABLE...basketball & soccer! Thank you for supporting DSHS Athletics!
